Kent Community Health NHS Trust is seeking applications from experienced Paediatricians who are highly motivated and forward thinking individuals, to join a committed and enthusiastic team of professionals. There are no out of hours responsibilities and the post is fully community based.

Locality: South West Kent- Royal Tunbridge Wells and surrounding areas

Royal Tunbridge Wells lies in the heart of one of the most scenic stretches of countryside in England, surrounded by the unspoilt beauty of the Weald of Kent, and yet it is just 30 miles away from London.

Kent Community Health NHS Trust invites applications for a replacement Speciality Doctor in Community Paediatrics. The successful candidate will be joining a highly motivated and well trained team. The post-holder will be expected to work closely with the Primary Health Care Team, Child and Family Mental Health Services, statutory and voluntary agencies and the Acute Paediatric Team. There are no out of hours responsibilities and the post is fully community based.

The broad responsibilities of the post are:

• Second and third tier community child health assessments
• Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatrics including ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) diagnostic assessments
• Child Protection, Safeguarding and Child Sexual Abuse medical assessments
• Educational medicine

Prospective candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and have at least 3 years’ post qualification experience with a minimum of 6 months’ Acute Paediatrics and 6 months’ specialist Community Paediatrics experience. They should have a comprehensive understanding of the diagnosis and management of the sick child and child development, including developmental disorders such as ADHD, Autism spectrum disorders and neurodisability. Appropriate training will be provided for the responsibilities of the post.
