The KCHFT Safeguarding Service is a combined Children and Adults Team, comprising of both Named Nurses for Children/Adults and Safeguarding Specialist Advisors for Children/Adults.

The Safeguarding Service wishes to appoint Safeguarding Specialist Advisor (Adults) to join the team.

The Safeguarding Specialist Advisor (Adults) will have a key role in promoting good professional practice and providing key elements of the Safeguarding Agenda. Under the guidance of the Named Nurses for Safeguarding Adults, the post holder will take the lead in providing training, supervision, specialist advice and support related to safeguarding adults. The post holder will also contribute to developing the skills of the frontline practitioners, particularly in relation to assessment of risk, and report writing.

The post holder should have significant experience of working with adults and have good knowledge base and understanding of safeguarding adults. In addition the post holder will need a good understanding of the Safeguarding Adults agenda, and this includes working with partner agencies to support adults at risk.

This is a challenging role, which requires the post holder to be able to travel across the Trust geographically to support the wider team. The post holder will be expected to develop their skills as a Safeguarding Specialist Advisor within the framework of the job description, including supporting the Named Nurses in developing key work streams and deputising when appropriate.

The successful candidate will be based within the Safeguarding team in North/West Kent although service delivery across the Trust requires flexibility to travel.
The current vacancy is a part time position for 22.5 hours.

Interviews are scheduled for 19th March 2018.

The candidates will be asked to prepare a short presentation as part of the interview day.
